COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE

For short adjectives or a syllable: - comparative To form the comparative adjective added to the ending-er: For example, the adjective fast and add-er: faster Examples: A train is faster than a bicycle. The sea is larger than a lake. - The superlative: To form the superlative add the adjective-est, and the adjective preceded by the article The. For example, the adjective old and add-est: the oldest (the oldest / most) Examples: My father is the oldest. My house is the largest. 1. For long adjectives of two or more syllables - CoMPARATIVE: To form comparisons, the adjective is preceded by the word more. For example, the adjective modern will be more modern Examples: This house is more modern. - The superlative: To form the superlative, the adjective is preceded by: The + MOST The adjective beautiful is: The most beautiful Examples: This woman is the most beautiful.
